Who runs this site
This website belongs to Newark Heater Pros, a water heater repair and replacement business that serves homes in Newark, Delaware and nearby New Castle County towns. General information only
The articles, glossary entries and service pages on this site are general information. They are not professional, legal, insurance, tax or medical advice, and they are not a substitute for an in-person inspection of your water heater. Every home, heater and insurance policy is different.
Safety
Water heaters use gas or high-voltage electricity and store water under pressure at high temperatures. Do not try any repair you are not trained to do safely. If you smell gas, leave the building and call your gas utility or 911 from outside. If you suspect carbon monoxide, get everyone outside and call 911.
Prices, rebates and laws
Cost figures on this site are planning ranges from the sources we name, not quotes. Your price depends on your home, the equipment and the work needed, and we give a written price before work begins. Rebates from Energize Delaware, Delmarva Power, Delaware Electric Cooperative, city utilities and federal programs change or end without notice; confirm current terms with the program before you buy. Laws, codes and permit rules can also change. Check with the office that issues your permit.
Insurance
We cannot tell you whether your insurer will pay a claim. Coverage depends on your policy wording. Read your policy and talk with your insurance agent or company. The Delaware Department of Insurance can answer general questions at 302-674-7300.
Licenses
Delaware requires plumbing and HVACR work to be done under a license issued by the state board. Check any company's license with the Delaware Division of Professional Regulation before you hire them.
Outside links
We link to government agencies, utilities and other sources so you can check our facts. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content.
